These pages are provided in several languages for clarity. In the event of any discrepancy between translations, only the French version is authoritative.
WAFIKO only uses cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the service to work. No advertising, audience-measurement or third-party tracking cookie is set: no consent banner is therefore needed. Here is the complete and exact list of what is used, and why.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| wafiko-session | Session cookie: keeps you signed in and maintains your browsing state (including protection against CSRF attacks). Strictly necessary. | 2 hours of inactivity, or until sign-out. | Cookie, 1st party |
| remember_web_... | Persistent sign-in cookie, set only if you tick "Remember me" when signing in. Strictly necessary for the functionality you explicitly requested. | Long-lived (framework default: up to 5 years), or until manual sign-out or a password change. | Cookie, 1st party |
| locale | Remembers the language chosen for displaying the site. Strictly necessary/functional. | 1 year. | Cookie, 1st party |
| theme | Remembers your light/dark display preference. Never leaves your browser, is never sent to the server. | Until deleted by you or by your browser. | Local storage (localStorage), not a cookie |
| wafikoDeviceToken | Randomly generated anonymous identifier, used only on the public "found animal" form accessible via a tag's QR code, to limit repeated abusive submissions from the same device. Not used for any tracking elsewhere on the site and never cross-referenced with another identifier. | Until deleted by you or by your browser. | Local storage (localStorage), not a cookie |
The base maps shown on the service are loaded directly from the OpenStreetMap project's servers: displaying them sends your IP address to OpenStreetMap, independently of any cookie set by WAFIKO. Refer to OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy to find out what it does with it on its end.
Because none of these are used for advertising, profiling or audience-measurement purposes, setting them does not require your prior consent under applicable regulations (the ePrivacy directive).
